NEBIS.AI / NEBIS TECHNICAL

A technical desk for your firm, with your partner's conclusion.

Questions on accounting, auditing, ethics, the Companies Act, tax and the PDPA, answered from the standards and the law. When a question needs a memo, the agent drafts it and your partner concludes.

What it covers

Questions your team asks every week.

/ 01

Accounting

Singapore financial reporting frameworks: SFRS(I), SFRS and SFRS for Small Entities, applied to the facts given.

/ 02

Auditing and quality

The Singapore Standards on Auditing, SSQM 1 and SSQM 2.

/ 03

Ethics and independence

The code of professional conduct and ethics for public accountants, including non-audit services.

/ 04

Companies Act, tax and PDPA

Statutory and tax questions that touch the audit or the financial statements, and personal data questions in practice.

/ 05

Answers that cite

Each answer names the standard or provision it relies on, so your reviewer can go straight to the source.

/ 06

Outside scope, said so

A question outside these areas is answered as outside scope, rather than with a guess.

Technical memos

Drafted by the agent. Concluded by your partner.

/ 01

Questions first

Before drafting, the agent asks for the facts it needs: the entity, the framework, the period and the transaction.

/ 02

A memo your file can hold

The memo sets out the issue, the facts, the requirements, the analysis and a proposed conclusion, with every citation.

/ 03

Your partner concludes

The partner named on the memo agrees, agrees with changes or disagrees, in their own words. Nebis never concludes for your firm.

The agent researches and drafts. Your partner decides.

Questions

Asked and answered.

Who concludes on a technical memo? +
Your firm's partner named on the memo, usually the engagement partner. The agent drafts the memo and answers review notes on it; it never concludes.
Are our questions shared with other firms? +
No. Your firm's questions and memos are not shown to other firms, and answers never refer to another firm or another firm's case.
What about a question on whether to report suspected money laundering or non-compliance? +
The answer refers you to your firm's risk management, MLRO or partner, with a caution about tipping off. Those decisions stay with your firm.
Is it included in the audit workspace? +
Questions and answers are part of the workspace. Technical memos are an add-on, set out in your firm's proposal.
